June 4th, 2009

Well May has come and gone, and here we are moving into june. may was a good month lots and lots of dolphin, sail fish and wahoo added some excitement to each day. We just got back from key west with the Sea Boots. We fished Hugh Cooley and his party from Dallas Tx, Hugh is the Vise President of Motiva division of Shell Oil. Hugh has been with the company over twenty years and is retiring this month. His fishing trip on Thursday was a great success we landed over thirty dolphin and released a seven and a half foot sail fish. On Friday and Saturday we fished Nancy Prior and her party in the Key West Shell Challenge. The K.W. Shell Challenge had 35 teams from Shell Oil competing for bragging rights in Key West. These teams come from all over the U.S. and Canada to compete. The money raised from the tournament benefits diabetes research. A great time was had by all. our Sea Boots Team caught the largest wahoo in the tournament 42 pounds and a seven foot sail fish was released. The boat Ramerez with Steve and Linda Magee landed a 65 pound bull dolphin during the tournament to take top honors in the dolphin division. That is a once in a life time catch. In the lower keys dolphin Tournament coming up in June 12-13-14 there is a prize for a dolphin weighting over fifty pounds of $20,000.00.
